The height of the Xbox is seven centimeters shorter. Another point that needs to be mentioned is that these consoles are ranked among the heaviest available consoles due to date.
Design and dimensions of PS5 and Xbox Series X
Based on official information at Sony.com, the ninth generation of PS5 is six centimeters taller than its foe. The new console of Sony is much higher than the new Xbox. It reaches 37.8 centimeters. The height of Xbox Series X is seven centimeters shorter. Another point that needs to be mentioned is that these consoles are ranked among the heaviest available consoles due to date. The optical version of PS5 is almost 4.5 kilograms, and the digital version that is cheaper and doesn't have any optical drive is nearly 3.9 kilograms. The new Xbox's weight is almost the same as its competitor, but this is way lighter than the digital version of PlayStation. It is 1.93 kilograms.
Microsoft did a fair job designing the new Xbox, and It has a cubic shape, and thanks to its black color, you can match it with many of the things in your room. On the other hand, the new PlayStation has a rectangle shape. It has a modern look, but it's a little difficult to match with the room, but possible because of its white color.
Well, by its looks, Xbox Series X has more processing power than the PlayStation 5, but we have to make sure of this in action.
The processing power of PlayStation 5 and Xbox-Series X
At the very core of Xbox Series X, we have a powerful AMD chip customized exclusively for this console. Microsoft and AMD, despite their last generation differences, did a great collaboration on this. Eight 7nm Zen 2 processing cores are included in this chip, and we have SMT capability to run sixteen threads in parallel.
Xbox Series X has 16GB of GDDR6 memory with a 320-bit interface. Looking at the console's storage part, we see a one terabyte NVMe SSD with a transfer rate of 2400 MB per second. You can also attach other SSDs to the device by the ports in the back of the console.
Again, in PS5, we also have eight 7nm Zen 2 processing cores, but they are slightly weaker than Xbox because they clock at 3.5 GHz and Xbox at 3.8 GHz. PlayStation 5 also has 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and a 256-bit interface. The thing is that PlayStation is more successful in real action, although on the paper, it seems a little weaker, it can run 4K resolution, Ray Tracing On games with higher frame rates and more graphic details. Kudos to Sony for this console.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X controllers
Xbox Series X controllers did not change drastically compared to the last generation, but it's an acceptable upgrade. The new controllers seem like the Xbox Elite controllers on the market. The circular pad of the controller has an ergonomic design which is better than the last generation. You can also use this controller on Windows 10 devices without any problem. Also, keep in mind that you can use the previous generation controllers on the Xbox Series X, but some customers reported that it doesn't function well, and sometimes it disconnects. Microsoft declined these accusations, but they released an update a few months ago, and now it seems like it's solved. If you want a new experience, I suggest using the new controllers.
On the other hand, PlayStation controllers changed entirely in terms of design, and now instead of DualShock, we have DualSense, which is cool.
DualSense enhances user experience, and the new PlayStation Controllers are very much similar than before to the Xbox. We have adaptive triggers on the L2 and R2 buttons, and they function and vibrate better than before. Haptic touch is another feature of the DualSense and replaced the old-school DC vibration. Xbox had this feature before, but now we get to experience it on the PS5.
Xbox consoles are cheaper than PlayStation, but Microsoft, contrary to Sony, has not yet announced tempting exclusives for its console, and they are buying many new studios. Probably we see some of the great exclusives in the middle of the generation. Still, for now, Sony is one more step ahead because it has introduced more tempting exclusives and have a much clearer path for their fans, compared to Microsoft that we don't know many things from its progress in making new exclusives.
Finally, I have to say that maybe buying the PlayStation is a better option because of Sony's exclusive games, and better support of buyers, and a lovely controller. Although some time has passed since the beginning of the generation, Microsoft has not yet shown much of its original exclusives. Of course, do not forget the Game Pass, you can use Game Pass to get access to many games for only ten dollars a month, and Sony has not yet provided such a service for gamers. But I have to say that buying a console is a personal choice, and some people may prefer the new Xbox to the PlayStation. It's totally up to you.Click here to create a mobile game
