Creation of Esports Companies

It seems to me that it’s impossible to leave eSports just like that, it’s like a drug. Anyone who has known the adrenaline of unforgettable victories and the all-encompassing emptiness of defeats understands me perfectly.

About a week ago, esports was added to the list of official sports. Now the competition will be officially held under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and all participants in these events have a real chance to receive the ranks and titles of masters of sports. For people who are far from this topic, this information may sound wild, for the rest, these are the realities of a changing world. Sport for some people is a serious business, as it attracts huge masses of people, and that is why many world Companies are starting to pay more and more attention to eSports, such as Valencia FC, West Ham, Wolfsburg, Sampdoria, and many others. The prize money of the world's largest tournaments has exceeded $15 million, and the audience numbers hundreds of millions of people. Putting all these numbers together,
The situation in modern esports companies is very ambiguous. On the one hand, there are serious Companies, the number of which can be counted on the fingers, on the other hand, there are millions of gamers who, for one reason or another, cannot reach the pro level. The main reasons for this are finances and the unwillingness of the CIS community to take esports activities as seriously as any other work. It was because of negligence and the “sleeveless” approach that very strong teams and Companies broke up. Also, eternal showdowns, squabbles, and gossip are a hallmark of the CIS community.
As you can see from the story above, there is no middle “layer” in this whole structure. Therefore, before even thinking about creating a new esports structure, you need to turn to the facts:
- How many people play games?
- Hundreds of millions.
- How many of them team up and start training?
- Hundreds of thousands.
- How many of them get to the coveted International or Major?
- A few dozens.
If you think you have any real statistical chance of being among these "elite" dozens, then you are either overconfident or infinitely stupid.
Also, no serious organization can exist without sponsorship. Therefore, you need to answer the question: “What do sponsors need?”. Winning the biggest tournaments? Not at all. They need publicity and the greatest coverage of the audience, that is, in fact, the organization's media coverage, which can be obtained in our time without winning the International.
Now we are smoothly approaching the topic of this topic, namely the creation of a new esports organization. I believe that the trend toward the creation of such communities will have an increasing polarity from year to year. And maybe in 5-10 years, eSports Companies will be in every city on a par with football and basketball clubs. Since I raised this topic, thereby signing myself as the organizer of this event, it will not be superfluous to introduce myself.
I started my esports career at the age of 13 in a small town in the South of Russia and competed in the CS 1.6 discipline, was a team captain, and went to the WCG and Asus qualifiers. At the age of 15, he organized his first tournament, bringing together more than 20 teams from all over the South. Remembering this now, I can’t even imagine how the owner of a computer club entrusted his establishment to a very young boy. Subsequently, I organized several more local-scale tournaments.
At the age of 17, he left for the Czech Republic. By a happy coincidence, my hostel neighbor turned out to be a guy from Novokuznetsk, who also played CS in his city. So we put together our team in Prague from a Russian-Czech, a Vietnamese, and our friend, who came with us only because we forced him. As a result, after a year of training, we entered the top 8 of the Czech Republic (then local tournaments brought together up to 60 teams in our discipline). Then it was necessary either to leave for the pro league, scoring work and study, or finish with a "counter", as the training took too much time. I chose the second option.
Now I am 28 years old. I am the owner of my brand and small production in China. And I think it's time to return to eSports, only in a different role.
As you could understand from my brief biography, I have no shortage of experience in organizing and managing people. Also, this idea appeared due to the fact that after living in China for more than a year, I acquired useful contacts and skills that can later seriously help the organization pay for itself financially.
Since I am not involved in charity, of course, for the successful existence of such a structure, a development plan must be drawn up and every effort must be made to implement it, but again, I don’t want to create an army-type organization, precisely because of my approach to this issue. I would like to move away from the stereotypes of the CIS communities and create a place that people can call their second home, and the people in it their second family.
Now Let's Move From Philosophy To Specifics.
What can I suggest:
- The name and, accordingly, the help of our brand (there are designers, programmers, and engineers on the staff).
- Provide teams of people who deserve attention with all the necessary ammunition (since now I am locally in China and work directly with factories that produce any gaming paraphernalia and accessories (carpets, mice, headphones, etc.)).
- Provide the organization with an initial base (website, the team spoke server and other things for the most comfortable development of the project).
Who I Want To See In The Team:
- Adequate and purposeful people who are ready to carry this difficult burden with me and who want to realize themselves in the eSports industry (management staff).
- People who are related to the media who are interested in this project and format (thematic groups, sites, channels on YouTube or Twitch).
- Programmers and designers (we need to create a certain product from the organization, and it is almost impossible to do this without these people).
- Former pro or semi-pro players of various disciplines (coaching staff and analytics department).
- Teams and players who wish to join the organization and play under our banners (any esports discipline).
In conclusion, I want to say that I thought for a long time about how best to start this project, there were several options from finding old contacts and establishing new ones to “throwing money” like modern eSports Companies. After weighing all the pros and cons, I decided to just write this blog and the reason for this is banal - the unwillingness to make life easier for someone, planting everything ready.
99% of "sofa" critics foam on the forums and social media. networks that it is impossible to break into serious Companies, schoolchildren are bombarded with questions about how to get into eSports and what needs to be done for this. Perhaps each of them thinks that skill is measured by the number of posts or angry comments and that all the people who play now in serious teams got there by chance. So I’ll answer that behind each of them there are thousands of hours spent in the game, huge risks of being “out of work” after reaching a certain age, and a million more problems associated with this.
Therefore, for all those who believe that he was not “lucky” and this topic was written, here is your chance, you just need to “get your ass up” and apply. Let's call it a social experiment, if this topic resonates with the public, we will create a new esports organization in the CIS together with you, and then there will be victories, boot camps, and sponsors. All in your hands!
