How can I update my Windows 10 to Windows 11?

Since the latest Windows 11 has some fine novelties with eye-catching aesthetics, naturally, users want to upgrade their software and experience the next chapter in the Windows-based devices.

When Windows 10 was released back in 2015, it revolutionized operating systems as we knew them. This shift to a more engaging generation had a lot of people amazed at the time. Windows 10 introduced a variety of advanced utilities and accessibilities. While some enjoyed the company of the unprecedented digital assistance Cortana, others could easily log in to their computer with the Windows Hello face recognition and fingerprint sign-in. Moreover, a dozen apps and the Microsoft Edge web browser were introduced. Android apps are finally here for Windows eleven users through the Microsoft Store, with the Amazon Appstore. Bringing Android apps to Windows is a massive step in integrating phones and computer devices. You can toggle between different desktops on Windows eleven. For instance, you can have one as your default desktop, one for business, and one for gaming. The new Microsoft Teams app has been put into the taskbar. The program is similar to Apple’s FaceTime and will be available for different operating systems, including Mac, Android, and iOS.There is now a widget panel on the taskbar for customizing widgets to see information like date, time, weather, etc.By bringing specific gaming features of Xbox counsels, the gaming experience has improved reportedly.

How to upgrade to Windows 11?

Fortunately, the new Windows is available for free. Thus, you don’t need to pay for anything. Nevertheless, the first thing you need to do to get Windows eleven is to check whether your computer supports the minimum system requirements essential for the new update. To make sure your device is compatible, you can use the PC Health Check app. Microsoft doesn’t recommend installing Windows eleven on systems that don’t meet the specs. Now, back to the updating methods.

Method 0

It is recommended to update your software through Windows Settings. Click on Check for updates in the directory Start - Settings - Update & Security - Windows Update. If you see the option to update to Windows 11, proceed with the download and installation. Still, suppose there is no similar update available. In that case, it means that your computer is not ready for the update yet, and it is better to wait a little while for the update to arrive on your Windows 10. However, you can see three more options to install Windows 11 on Microsoft’s website.

Option #1

Although Microsoft recommends waiting to get the update message on your Windows 10, another way to get Windows 11 is by using the Installation Assistance tool available on the Download Windows 11 page on Microsoft.com. Once downloaded, run the file and go through the wizard. When your computer finishes the process, it will restart before loading the new Windows 11 desktop on your device.

Option #2

On the same page where you can download the Installation Assistance, you will have another tool under the section Create Windows 11 Installation Media. Download and run the file. After accepting the license agreement and choosing your preferred Windows edition, you will encounter two options – a USB flash drive and an ISO file. The installation files will copy directly to your USB drive by selecting the first one. If you go for the ISO file, you can choose a location to save the ISO files. Regardless of which one you choose, run the EXE file and complete the wizard. Keep in mind that in the Choose what to keep windows, you can select between keeping personal files and apps, keeping personal files only, and nothing. Click Next and then Install. Similarly, your system will reboot when the installation is done. Needless to say, you can also create a bootable USB or DVD for future installations.

You can directly download the ISO files in Download Windows eleven Disk Image (ISO) section. Choose Windows 11 from the menu and click Download to save the files on your device. You can make bootable media or run the installation directly on your Windows 10. For the latter, all you need to do is to finish the wizard, and the upgrade will conclude shortly. You can also modify your preferred installation type in the Choose what to keep section.
